Special News
Graham Yost showed in his first show; the Walk Trot division. He rode Lloyd Webber, who belongs to his daughter Clementine. They had an admirable debut, except for the illegal martingale that Connie forgot to take off. If it wasn't for the extra tack, Graham would have creamed those 5 yr-old girls. His usual steed Above and Beyond came up lame so Lloyd was a true catch-ride. Graham had jumped at least twenty times on Max (Above and Beyond) but never on Lloyd. To his surprise, the hack had two cross-rails in it. His partner in crime, Taylor, managed to go off course, with two jumps, and Graham had a stop and then after a big kick, Lloyd launched him upward to land in a way no man should land. Ladies and Gentlemen Graham will be back. Just you watch.
Tribute to Glenmore Trix
Glenmore Trix is now retired. He started showing when he was about three years-old back in Virginia, and has ended his show career after 18 years of showing in the pony hunters. When I bought him, everyone told me he only did the pony hunters. Then my trainer put us in the pony jumpers. That was a great success, although Trix did show his age in the model, he still has been champion many many times in the hunters. After starting the jumpers Trix was champion in jumpers, hunters and eq. Trix had it all, he is a brilliant pony, he would gallop around the course making it all look easy, and most importantly he made it fun. He did all his changes for me, I never asked him once. He was the ultimate pony. I will always love Trix; he taught me how to ride, how to be soft and ride like a feather. If I popped him in the mouth or squeezed too hard he still wouldn't buck, he is the perfect pony.
In Memory of Lloyd Webber
January 1992- March 5th 2008
I got Lloyd when I was 13, I am now 15. When I first got him he would drag me around the course and leave all the fences up. We always advanced to the jump off and he always won at least once at every show. He was champion numerous times. He always made the children's jumpers fun. We even advanced to the mojams at Tucson. Lloyd always had lessons for me to learn. At Tucson he taught me how to ride like a true jumper rider. He saved my butt over many many jumps. Sadly the Wednesday after he returned from Tucson, he was bucking and playing in the half acreage of pasture and slipped. He fractured his knee in two places, he couldn't be saved.
Everyone who knew Lloyd loved him. The entire Waterford Farms was his fan-club. He made me smile every day. He loved to jump so much. He loved everyone who ever gave him a Paddock Cake. He was the most cuddly, huggable horse I ever saw. Lloyd taught me everything about how to be a good rider. I would be nothing without Lloyd. Lloyd Webber is my hero.
